Room Redo -"slight" change of plans

The "slight" change of plans is that I am moving. Staying in Charleston but moving back in with my friend Lyn on July 1. I like my neighborhood and love being 5 minutes from work but it's the right move for me right now. I will FINALLY have a fenced in backyard for the dogs, a large loft like upstairs area all to myself and will be living again with one of my best friends from growing up.

I am super excited and think that it's happening at the perfect time!

I will fill you in on more later- I am now off to a planning meeting for Grateful Golden's annual golf tournament. Keep your fingers crossed for me that they decide to let me adopt Charlie!!!

Also more to come about Snoop Dogg last night. He was AMAZING!!!!

I headed over to my friend Jenny's after work yesterday for some yummy fish tacos and some time with these precious little boys...

and then played in the backyard with my precious pups...thank goodness for the mud puddle they got into...right?

incredibly sad

Can't go into too many details yet but I let the rescue organization know yesterday that I want to adopt the dog I am currently fostering and was pretty much told no. Will go into more on that later. So, I have emailed my contact today and asked that Charlie be picked up by the end of the day today. I cannot get any more attached to this dog. Maddie cannot get any more attached to this dog. AND this dog cannot get any more attached to us. It's just so sad.

I am at home for lunch right now and there are no words to describe how I felt while watching them play outside just now. Maddie has NEVER been so happy and I just can't believe I am taking that away from her. They are honestly the perfect match and how often does that happen? Most dogs like each other or tolerate each other but these two just melt my heart when I see them play in the yard and snuggle together at night. Maddie is a very skittish dog and has seriously come out of her shell in the last two weeks with Charlie around.

I am so frustrated right now. Will have to write more later as I just don't even know what else to say.

Oh what a day...

1...I found something great at one of my favorite local antique stores, that I will use to make my new desk. The pictures really don't do it justice - especially since I don't have a great camera. It's a large wooden screen which will be the platform for my desk. A friend is going to attach some legs for me and ta da! Well - not exactly. I want to paint it and add a piece of glass to the top so that it is level. Anyway, it just has so much character and I am very excited about it!

I love the little hinge there - hopefully I won't have to remove it.

Once the legs are added I will post another picture. Then I will be busy sanding and painting and finding a piece of glass. Will send updated pictures as I go!

2...I took the dogs on a nice walk
after work. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see Charlie doing so much better! I still can't walk him too far b/c he might have a relapse of pneumonia but he sure does love his short walks! I also cheat a little and let him run around and play in the backyard with Maddie. I have to say I think this might be the toughest one to let go. He and Maddie really have
become best friends and seem to be the perfect match. As you can see - he loves his Maddie Moo!

3...Next up I repotted some of my plants. Ran out of soil so I am not done yet but had fun none-the-less. I can't wait to post some more pictures b/c I think this is the longest I have kept anything alive! And - I can't wait to learn to cook with my new herbs. Another small project I am going to work on next is some cute little labels like these that I found on Etsy.

Beware of Poop!

Morgan and I took the dogs on a short walk around the neighborhood last night. While on the walk I couldn't help but notice all the piles of poop surrounding the poop bag dispenser/trashcan. Why? Is it really that hard to pick it up? I mean, I don't want to pick it up either but you gotta do what you gotta do when you decide to have a dog! So - when I just happened upon this I just had to post it! Hee hee...

10. Favorite song...Since there is no possible way that I could just pick one favorite song out of everything I listen to, I chose to go with a childhood favorite which was - You are my Sunshine. So as I was looking on YouTube for this song - this is what I found. I am warning you - it's pretty sweet and it might make you cry.

11. Favorite Flower... Daisies. Gerbera daisies, shasta daisies, etc. Can't wait for mine to bloom!
