It's strange to actually spend a night at home instead of the hospital with my dad.
I've been catching up on laundry, cleaning, blogs, tivo and making a grocery list.
I don't cook much but doesn't all this look delicious?
And to top it off....Carrot Cupcakes with Cream-Cheese Icing?
Yes, please.
All found on Martha Stewart Food.  Will let you know how it goes!

Dad update:  He was moved to a nursing home in Columbia on Friday of last week.  On Sunday he aspirated and ended up in the ER with a fever of 105.  He now has Pneumonia.  It wasn't looking good for a while and he looked so sick and defeated.  It was the worst night yet.  The antibiotics have done wonders since they caught it so quickly.  Now we just have to figure out where to go from here.  He can't get fluids in the nursing home so it's maybe on to Hospice at this point.  So frustrating.  Just hoping Mayo Clinic gets back to us and says they can fix him!  Especially since it's his 66th birthday tomorrow.

  1. hospice?! ohhh nooo :(

boo...hope he gets better and fast. poor guy...

  2. Sending all my love and thoughts your way sweet Collins. Guy and I have been keeping your family in our thoughts.
If you're around Monday, Al, Les, and I were thinking of doing HH somewhere. Would love to see you. xoxo

  3. happy early birthday to your papa!

  4. I can relate to a lot of what you're going through. I'm new to your blog and just wanted to drop a note of sympathy for you but also to let you know that I know how hard it is. I said goodbye ot my father at 10, and my grandparents were in their late 60's when they passed away from aggressive cancer a few years ago. We had my grandma in hospice and did everything we could. It was so tough but somehow you always find the strength to cope. Happy birthday to your papa, hoping for the best! Also, I made those carrot cake cupcakes from Martha a few weeks ago and they are DIVINE. You deserve some :)

  5. It all looks very delicious...Happy Birthday to your Dad!...
