free cat adoption

Charleston Animal Society is adopting out all cats over a year old for free this weekend.  They do this about every 6 months b/c they have so many.  Today was my first time volunteering for one of their cat events.  Yes I do have a cat but to be honest I have never been a big fan of cats.  They make me nervous.  Might have something to do with the fact that I got cat scratch fever when I was little and I don't know that I have ever gotten over it.  Anyhoo...I volunteered for them today and had the best time.  And...fell in love with almost all of them.

So Tommy was my favorite today.  He was skittish but would eventually warm up and was so sweet.  How about that picture on the right?  I think he was astounded by the dirty glass.  Shame shame.

The above cat's name really was Slim.  Slim?  This was officially the largest cat I have ever laid eyes on.  And I had to pick him up several times.  No longer scared of cats.  :)

And then there's the kitty room.  These haven't even been put on the adoption floor yet.

Precious.

  1. I love that picture of the cat, disgusted at the dirty glass with his little cat mouth open in horror!! Ah hahahaha! I honestly could not go to an event like this, because I would bring 10 cats home with me. I have no will power to say no...
I never thought I was a cat person, until I adopted my babies... Couldn't live without 'em now!
